Mark Fischer

Mark Fischer joined Grupe in 1989 and has served in a variety of management positions. Mark currently serves as the President and Chief Financial Officer of The Grupe Company, Grupe Home Star, MarchbrookBuilding Company & Grupe Custom Homes.

In 2006 Grupe launched Carsten Crossings, Grupe’s first “Zero Energy” community, located in Rocklin California. Mark led both the design and implementation of this project. The project featured BIPV and energy efficiency features standard in all homes. This project won several awards including an EVHA Gold Award from the National Association of Home Builders.

Building on the Carsten Crossings project, Mr. Fischer started Grupe Home Star (GHS). GHS is a company that specializes in energy efficiency and solar retrofits on existing homes. GHS is accredited by the Building Performance Institute (BPI) and iscurrently doing retrofits in Stockton and Sacramento. Mark is on the board of the California Building Contractors Association (CBPCA).

Prior to joining Grupe, Mark was a senior consultant for Kenneth Leventhal & Company. Mark received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Sacramento State University, and a Masters Degree in Real Estate from the Lusk School of Real Estate at the University of Southern California. Mark is a CPA and an associate member of the Urban Land Institute. Mark is also Certified by the Building Performance Institute as a Building Analyst and Envelope Specialist, and a “Build it Green”, “New & Existing Home Green Point Rater”.

Jeremy S. White, P.E.

Jeremy S. White began with The Grupe Company in 1994. In 1996, he graduated from University of the Pacific with Bachelor of Science Degrees in Civil Engineering and Engineering Management and joined Kjeldsen, Sinnock and Neudeck, Inc., a civil engineering firm. He returned to The Grupe Company in 1998. In 1999, he obtained his Professional Engineering license in Civil Engineering from the State of California. He is currently Chief Operating Officer of TGC and oversees the operations for its distressed home investment portfolios and Rent-to-Own program. He is also responsible for residential community development including acquisitions, forward planning, and development.

He is a past President of the Building Industry Association of the Delta, is actively involved with the California Building Industry Association and is currently a member of its Government Affairs Committee. In 2014, Jeremy was re-appointed by the City Council to serve a second five year term as a commissioner on the City of Stockton’s Development Oversight Commission. He is a full member of the Urban Land Institute and sits on the silver flight of its Community Development Council. Jeremy has also served on the Board of Directors of the local YMCA and is involved with several youth organizations.

Nelson E. Bahler

Nelson E. Bahler joined The Grupe Company in 1980 and is the General Counsel, Secretary and Executive Vice President. In his capacity as General Counsel, Mr. Bahler is responsible for the overall legal affairs of the company’s family of operating units. Mr. Bahler graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wabash College, a Masters in Business Administration from Western New England College, and a Juris Doctorate degree from McGeorge School of Law. He moved to Stockton in 1977 when employed by the law firm of Neumiller & Beardslee.

In addition to his professional duties, Nelson also has served the community through several nonprofit organizations, including past President of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce, Stockton Symphony Board of Directors, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Central United Methodist Church, and member of the North Stockton Rotary Club.

Chris Conklin

Chris Conklin is Vice President of The Grupe Company based in Stockton, Ca. He joined Grupe in 2005 and has held many roles within the organization. Chris played an integral role entitling the Sanctuary project which is a 1900 acre amenity oriented master planned community that will consist of approximately 7,700 homes and 300,000 square feet of commercial and office development. Entitlements are currently approved within the City limits of Stockton. Chris also managed Grupe Commercial Company’s outside commercial management division as their Vice President. His duties included commercial acquisitions, sales, construction management, asset and property management. Chris managed all aspects of 15 projects comprised of over 400,000 square feet of commercial retail and office space and successfully grew the company’s commercial portfolio before returning to the residential side of the business in 2014. Chris’ current duties include overseeing forward planning and development.

Chris is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara and holds a California Real Estate license. He is involved in multiple youth sports organizations and other community outreach organizations.

Chris currently lives in Stockton with his wife and two daughters.

Chad Van Alstine

Chad Van Alstine joined The Grupe Company in 2010 and currently serves as Vice President of Grupe’s Southern California Value Add Program.

In 2004 Chad joined a private equity firm as a market analyst focusing on the secondary real estate market. Over the next 6 years he was responsible for the acquisition, management and disposition of the firm’s sub-performing and nonperforming assets. During his tenure Chad established a reputation for consistently delivering annual returns in excess of 25%. In 2010 Chad formed a small team of accomplished individuals to expand The Grupe Company’s reach into the Southern California Real Estate market.

The Costa Mesa based office focuses on identifying and acquiring distressed, underperforming apartment and single-family properties. To date he has managed over 1,000 successful real estate transactions that have returned substantial profits to investors. This experience has helped Chad become a leader in the Value Add sector where he continues to exceed investor expectations.

Chad received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies from California State University, San Marcos. Chad is a Southern California native and enjoys surfing, motorcycles, and coaching his son’s baseball team. He currently resides in Long Beach with his wife and two sons.
