Giving Back
Fritz and Phyllis Grupe have been giving back personally and corporately to San Joaquin County and beyond since their early days of marriage. From leading a choir and a Boy Scout troop to important museum gifting to developing one of the most successful public private partnerships for social services for the underserved in their county, Fritz and Phyllis have given their time, love and millions of dollars into philanthropy.
This philosophy has progressed into a corporate culture. Our family of employees are happy to support a long list of local and national organizations in a variety of ways, from Goodwill Industries, Haggin Museum, Community Partnership for Families, Stockton Symphony, St. Mary’s Interfaith Dining Hall, YMCA, San Joaquin AgFest, Women’s Center, Child Abuse Prevention Council, Ducks Unlimited, Building Industry Association, Urban Land Institute, United Way, among others.
1984 Grupe Fair Fund
Mission Statement: The 1984 Grupe Fair Fund provides funding and support to programs that result in better (including, but not limited to) education, social, physical, spiritual and mental health for the most challenged, at-risk children, families and individuals in San Joaquin County. Since 1981 Fritz and Phyllis Grupe have hosted “Country Fair” and donated over $10 million dollars through the Fair Fund. Organizations such Easter Seals, ALS, San Joaquin A+, Community Partnership for Families of San Joaquin, Gospel Center Rescue Mission and many others have benefitted. The primary focus for funding are programs which provide services that at risk children, families and individuals can tap into to create a better life for themselves in San Joaquin County.
Philanthropy
We feel fortunate to be born in the United States of America with all its privileges. We are blessed with our health and business success. Since we have the means, we feel it’s important to reinvest our time and money into the community that helped us succeed.
2 of our community’s biggest challenges are:
- Crime
- Generational Poverty
The best way to address both challenges is through active participation in community affairs by supporting local organizations which measure results with special focus on education and programs that break generational poverty.
